Well done Belinda. Maxine remembers the day of the salmon very well.

Hi Belinda! Sheila was just round to see me and told me about your salmon story! What a laugh we had - and it was perfectly edible once washed and decorated etc. I still have photos.....lovely to see your picture and hear your voice - they were great times we had together at Ben Alder, weren't they? Great hair colour by the way!
Hope you are well - you look just the same. Lots of love, Maxine x

The Colonel referred to in the audio was/is Colonel P-M, late of the Brigade of Guards. I was out with him one day when he shot a fairly unimpressive stag. The custom was to weigh the stags once back in the Larder and butchered. When the true weight of the stag was known Col P-M turned to me and whispered that he wouldn't be putting that one in his memoirs!
